Buried in Treasures – Online 2024

When

March 21, 2024 to July 11, 2024
6:00 pm to 8:30 pm

Event Type

Hoarding is often associated with significant reduction in quality of life, and in some extreme cases, it can pose serious health risks. This course provides an evidence-based, effective program to help those with hoarding disorders to gain control over clutter and chaos in their homes.

It is a program that involves skill-building, learning to think about possessions in a different way, and gradual challenges to help people manage their clutter. The course is derived from the book “Buried in Treasures, Help for Compulsive Acquiring, Saving, and Hoarding” by David Tolin, Randy Frost and Gail Steketee.

The course is goal-focused and provides self-help support to those with compulsive acquiring, saving, and hoarding experiences. A booklet accompanies the course and will be used each session with homework will be assigned between sessions. The group will come back together for two sessions, after the first 13 sessions have been completed, to discuss their progress and skill development related to hoarding and collecting.

At the end of the course, the group will have the option to keep meeting and become a support group. No class on February 20, April 10 and May 22, 2023 due to Stat Holidays.

To join this course you will need access to the internet.
