SUMMARY:Mental Health First Aid Training - Online - February
DESCRIPTION:Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is the help provided to a person
  developing a mental health problem or already in a mental health crisis. 
 Just as first aid is administered to an injured person before medical trea
 tment can be obtained\, MFHA is given until appropriate treatment is found
  or until the crisis is resolved.\n\nCourse participants will learn how to
  recognize signs that a person may be experiencing a decline in their ment
 al well-being or are in a mental health crisis. This eight hour course sta
 rts with a two hour self-directed module (Module I) that focuses on the in
 formation and strategies that participants will discuss and practice throu
 ghout the virtual classroom modules. Course participants are required to c
 omplete Module I before participating in the additional modules.\n\nThe tw
 o online modules (Modules II and III) will be split into two sessions\, ea
 ch three hours in length. Upon registration\, participants will receive th
 e MHFA Participant Reference Guide that outlines MHFA actions for developi
 ng mental health and substance use issues\, along with mental health and s
 ubstance use crises.\n\nPlease note: the cost for this course is $275.00 p
 er person and a certificate of completion will be provided at the end of t
 he course. This course must have 15 people registered and will be confirme
 d two weeks prior to the date scheduled for Module II\, if there are not e
 nough registrants the course may be rescheduled. When the course is confir
 med\, students registered will be sent the self-study materials for Module
  I to be completed independently. If the Module I is not completed\, a stu
 dent cannot proceed to the second module and the course fee will not be re
