SUMMARY:Mental Health First Aid Training - May 2021
DESCRIPTION:Mental Health First Aid ("MHFA") is the help provided to a pers
 on developing a mental health problem or already in a mental health crisis
 . Just a first aid is administered to an injured person before medical tre
 atment can be obtained\, MFHA is given until appropriate treatment is foun
 d or until the crisis is resolved.\n\nCourse participants will learn how t
 o recognize signs that a person may be experiencing a decline in their men
 tal well-being or are in a mental health crisis. This eight hour course st
 arts with a two hour self-directed module (Module I) that focuses on the i
 nformation and strategies that participants will discuss and practice thro
 ughout the virtual classroom modules. Course participants are required to 
 complete Module I before participating in the additional modules.\n\nThe t
 wo online modules (Modules II and III) will be split into two sessions\, e
 ach three hours in length. Upon registration\, participants will receive t
 he MHFA Participant Reference Guide that outlines MHFA actions for develop
 ing mental health and substance use issues\, along with mental health and 
 substance uses crises.\n\nThe cost for this course is $275 and a Certific
 ate of Completion will be provided upon successful completion.\n\nTo regis
