DESCRIPTION:CMHA’s Certified Psychological Health and Safety Advisor Trai
 ning Program will help individuals who are working to improve psychologica
 l health and safety in workplaces or implement Canada’s National Standar
 d of Canada for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace (the Stan
 dard).\n\nIn developing this ground-breaking certification course\, the CM
 HA Workforce Mental Health Collaborative hopes to break down barriers and 
 seize opportunities for those who are supporting implementation of the Sta
 ndard.\n\nEmployers will see those with this certification as having the p
 ractical expertise to help improve psychological health and safety or impl
 ement the Standard in their workplaces.\n\nLearning Objectives\n\nAfter yo
 ur training you should be able to:\n\n 	State and demonstrate your ability
  to adhere to the overarching principles of a CMHA Certified PH&amp\;S Adv
 isor\n 	Assess readiness for change\n 	Prepare employers to proceed with a
  psychological health and safety assessment\n 	Apply tools to assess and a
 nalyze psychological health and safety\n 	Give and accept feedback in a co
 nstructive way\n 	Present to employers – the business case\, assessment 
 processes\, and implementation plan.\n\nThe certification training has bee
 n developed to provide an experiential learning opportunity for Advisors s
 o they can better support organizations of all sizes. Advisors are provide
 d with hands-on experience of the key questions\, challenges and opportuni
 ties of organizations striving to implement psychological health and safet
 y within their workplaces.\n\nIt is focused on developing competency for:\
 n\n 	Presenting the business case – This focuses on convincing senior le
 aders and other key workplace stakeholders of the value and necessity for 
 working toward improved psychological health and safety of their workplace
 s or implementation of the Standard.\n 	Preparing for the assessment proce
 ss – Helping employers be comfortable with and understand the scope\, pr
 ocess and necessity of collecting data. This is required before establishi
 ng effective baseline measurements. Managing expectations and being clear 
 about issues such as confidentiality and process are key.\n 	Making recomm
 endations – Analyzing the assessments and recommending an action plan mu
 st be done with knowledge of the organization’s constraints\, competing 
 demands and current realities. To be successful in sustaining implementati
 on\, the plan must be manageable and valuable in terms of outcomes\n\nDura
 tion: 4 - 1/2 days      Cost: $1\,000 per participant\n\n\n\nFrequently
  Asked Questions\nWho should take this training?\n\nThis training is geare
 d towards a variety of individuals who are tasked with addressing psycholo
 gical health and safety in the workplace. For example\, individuals who wo
 rk in Human Resources\, Occupational Health Safety\, Health and Wellness\,
  Health and Safety\, Disability Management or are external workplace consu
 ltants are encouraged to register.\n\nAre there any pre-requisites for thi
 s training?\n\nThere are no pre-requisites for this training. However\, it
  is important for participants to have good knowledge of the National Stan
 dard on Psychological Health and Safety.\n\nIs there any pre-work for the 
 training?\n\nYes\, there will be 1-2 hours of pre-work before the training
 . Participants will receive an email at least 1 month prior to the trainin
 g that will contain pre-work readings and a quiz. Each participant must pa
 ss the quiz with a minimum score of 80% prior to the course in order to pa
 rticipate.\n\nHow is the training structured over the two days?\n\nUsing a
  case study\, each participant will be assigned to a group that will creat
 e a presentation for each of the three modules- Presenting the Business Ca
 se\, Preparing for the Assessment Process and Making Recommendations. Part
 icipants will be scored on their proven ability to adhere to the CMHA Cert
 ified PH&amp\;S Advisor Principles as well as the specific Objectives for 
 each module.\n\nIs there a final exam at the end of the training?\n\nNo\, 
 there is not a final exam at the end of the training.\n\nDo I have to atte
 nd the full four 1/2 day sessions?\n\nIn order to receive certification\, 
 and to fully benefit from the training\, all participants must complete th
 e two day consecutive training program in order to receive their certifica
 tion.\n\nHow will the Advisors stay connected to the Collaborative after t
 he training?\n\nAdvisors will be part of an exclusive CMHA Certified PH&am
 p\;S Advisor Community of Practice. Through the Collaborative\, Advisors w
 ill receive new information about CMHA workplace initiatives including eve
 nts and tools and resources. They will also be informed by the Collaborati
 ve of other workplace initiatives from our supporting partners.\n\nRegistr
