SUMMARY:Caring for a Loved One with Hoarding Challenges (Online)
DESCRIPTION:Hoarding does not only impact the individual living with it\; i
 t also affects family members\, friends\, and circles of support who are o
 ften navigating stress\, worry\, and difficult decisions. This five-sessio
 n course is designed for loved ones supporting someone with hoarding chall
 enges and offers a mix of education\, reflection\, and practical skill-bui
 lding grounded in a compassionate\, harm-reduction approach. Because hoard
 ing is a complex mental health condition tied to shame\, trauma\, and emot
 ional attachment\, common responses such as pressure\, ultimatums\, or cle
 an-outs often strain relationships and increase distress. This course help
 s participants understand what is really happening\, why these approaches 
 can backfire\, and how to respond in ways that are safer and more sustaina
 ble. Participants will build confidence in communication\, boundary settin
 g\, and safety planning\, while reducing isolation and self-blame. By the 
 end of the course\, participants will leave with practical tools for suppo
 rtive in-home decluttering\, clearer boundaries\, realistic next steps\, a
 nd a stronger sense of connection and perspective in their role as a suppo
