DESCRIPTION:This free\, 7 session (weekly) course (in-person only) is for a
 nyone who is concerned about their own use of drugs or alcohol. Whether or
  not you have been diagnosed with a substance use disorder\, if you feel t
 hat you have been losing control of your alcohol or drug use\, this course
  can help you to make positive changes.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nAddiction Recovery S
 kills\, as a program\, is intended to be non-judgmental\, motivational\, p
 ractical and useful for recovery planning. The course will equip participa
 nts with up-to-date information about substance use\, mental health\, copi
 ng strategies and supports. It is not intended as a replacement for therap
 y or treatment.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nCourse Objectives:\n\n 	Define substance use
  disorder (SUD)/addiction.\n 	Explain the brain’s reward system and the 
 addiction cycle.\n 	Identify your self-motivation for change.\n 	Understan
 d mental illness\, emotions and how these interact with Substance Use Diso
 rder.\n 	Identify barriers to reducing or quitting substances.\n 	Describe
  ways to overcome addictive behaviours and set up for success.\n 	Practice
  mindful approaches to recovery.\n 	Create a recovery plan\n\nDates: Thurs
